Good morning and Happy Saturday!
I am welcoming this weekend with open arms! The sun is shining, tomorrow is a holiday, and most importantly, I don’t have to be at work for two days. The latter fact is always my number one reason for loving weekends.
My past week has consisted of the same old stuff I always do…spend the day at work, teach Jazzercise after work. Nothing too exciting.
Last night, however, was definitely a great night. Lee and I made plans to go to my parent’s house to dye eggs. Um…maybe I should say that I made plans to go to my parent’s to dye eggs and, because Lee is a great guy, agreed to tag along. To my surprise, when we got to my parent’s, they were ready to head out the door to go out to dinner and invited us to go along.
We went to a Chef Dato’s, which is a restaurant right down the road from my parent’s house. I actually had never been there, but have heard wonderful things about it. They have an extensive wine and beer list, as well as fun events like International Nights, where they feature specific foods from different parts of the world.
I was really pleased with the menu selections and had a really hard time deciding what to order. I wanted every single seafood pasta dish, both risotto choices on the menu, and the portabella mushroom sandwich. In the end, I chose the sandwich and fries. I also started with a cup of clam chowder. Everything was really delicious!
After dinner, we headed back to my parent’s house and moved on to the exciting adventure of dying eggs! By we, I mean that my mom and I dyed eggs while my dad and Lee hung out and watched TV. My dad says that ‘dying eggs is for girls’. He’s hilarious.
Today, I have a 4-mile run, yard work, and maybe some shopping on the agenda. We shall see what the day brings!
