Hello! Welcome to the sweetest post of the year!
With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, we were talking at work about all the sappy stuff that goes along with it. You know, dinner dates, flowers, gifts, cards, and such I have never been one to go all out for Valentine’s Day and, while I do get Lee a couple of fun little gifts and a card, we don’t tend to make big plans for our day. Like one of my coworkers said, “Valentine’s Day should be every day,” and I totally agree! However, I am never one to turn down a holiday and all the fun things that go along with it…like candy.
We started talking about the things we normally give and receive as gifts for our significant others and the conversation turned to candy. Now, I know candy is available all year. I also know it doesn’t have to be a holiday to eat it. But…coming from someone that doesn’t really like sweets and sugar, I do have my favorites that won’t last a second if they’re around me!
All the talk about what kind of candy we all love, I thought it would be fun to share my favorites with you and, hopefully, learn what is your guilty pleasure, too! Here are mine in no particular order…
Candy hearts – so good and the perfect walk down memory lane back to grade school Valentine’s Day parties. Also, only originals…none of that generic brand.
Swedish Fish – I don’t even like ‘gummy’ candy that much…but what is it about these things that make them so freakin’ good!?
Peanut M&Ms – If I never had another plain M&M in my life, I would be totally fine. Try to tell me I’ll never have another peanut one? I’ll lose my mind.
Jelly Belly jelly beans – I have never liked jelly beans. Then, one Christmas, my aunt bought me a box of assorted Jelly Belly flavors. My life was forever changed.
Snickers – How could this not be on everyone’s ‘favorites’ list? Is there anything not to like?
Kit Kats – Hey, gimme a break! They’re delicious!
Okay. So, I just spent some time writing this post and looking at pictures of candy. The only logical next step is to eat every single one of the things on this list. Thankfully, I do have a little bit of self-control and I’m going to try to spread them out over the next week or so. Sound like a good plan? Yeah, I thought so too!
Something to share: What is your favorite candy? Give me one or give me a few!
