So Much Smoothie

Morning, friends!  Happy Wednesday!

Today is Week #2 of having Wednesdays off from work.  I used to have Wednesdays off at my old job and I welcomed them with open arms when they were offered to me at my new job.  For me, it’s the perfect day to have off during the week…you work two days, have one off, work two more, then, it’s the weekend!  Perfect!

DInner -
Last night was taco night in our house.  Does anyone else have “Taco Night” all the time because it’s an easy go-to when you can’t think of anything else to have?  If I’m lacking meal inspiration, the only way to cure it is to have taco night.  It’s easy and fast and I usually have everything I need!  I switched my  night up a little by making it ‘Taco Salad Night’.  I have been trying to watch my carbs and concentrate on veggies and proteins, so no taco shells for me!

(Don’t be fooled by my ‘watching my carbs’…I’m not cutting them out…just trying to not eat them for every.single.meal!)

So filling and satisfying!

Breakfast -
This morning started off with me yelling at the dogs (per usual) and a smoothie.  A smoothie that could probably be divided among four people, mind you.  I find it impossible to measure ingredients for smoothies.  I just start throwing things in my GNC mixer cup and just blend!  Sometimes, it ends up filling the cup…

…which is waaaay too much smoothie.  However, I will finish all of it.  That’s a no-brainer.  In the mix today was frozen strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries with strawberry-banana yogurt, a scoop of strawberry protein powder, and water to mix.  It must be a strawberry kind of day!

My plans for the day include:
* working more on my wedding bouquet
* mopping the floors (ughhhhhh!!)
* doing laundry (double ughhhhh!!)
* having lunch with my mom
* teaching two Jazzercise classes this evening

As I type this, my mom is on her way to my house.  I have yet to tell her that we will be working on my bouquet…and probably a million other wedding things.  Surprise, Mom!  My mom is pretty wonderful and will have no problems helping.  She might even mop a floor or two!!  Moms are like that.

Alright, everyone!  Enjoy your Wednesday!

With much Love and Laughter,
Kelly

Something to share:  Do you measure your smoothie ingredients or just toss ‘em in and blend like me?

  1. Yum, I do love my smoothies! Had one yesterday and another today. Yesterday’s is posted on the blog, a green smoothie with banana, orange, spinach and pineapple. Today’s had banana, blueberries, Greek yogurt & spinach. Delish!

    We have been juicing a bit lately and I was actually just sitting here thinking if it would be a good idea for me to do something like 2 smoothies/juices a day and one real meal. Not sure how that would work when I get back to working out hard after being sick because I need substance lol. We’ll play it by ear I guess.

    Have fun today! Sounds like you’ll keep yourself busy.

  2. I haven’t experimented as much as I should with smoothies because I don’t want to make too much lol. I have one perfected that used just 4 large frozen strawberries, 2 ice cubes, 1 cup of silk unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and 1 scoop of protein powder. The times I’ve tried to mix things up a bit have been a disaster. Yours looks good though! Good luck with planning today :) P.S. so jealous you have Wednesdays off! lol
