Holiday Weekend Fun

Hey Friends!  :-)

Have you recovered from your long holiday weekend?  Yeah.  Me neither.

I just want to share some scenes from my weekend with you, but before I do that, I want to ask you if you could spare a minute to send some prayers and good thoughts to a good friend of Lee’s.  Friday night, our friend, Josh, was in a serious car accident and suffered a brain injury.  He is currently hanging on strong in the hospital, but we do not have much information about the seriousness of his injuries, so we are all just playing the waiting game.  He made it through his first 72 hours, which is a good thing, but his injuries are still very serious and we are just hoping for a little bit of good news every day.  Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers….he needs every little piece of hope that he can get.  Thanks, guys!

Okay…now, moving onto the rest of my weekend….

…we relaxed.

Well, I guess I should say, Jet relaxed.  This picture was taken Saturday  morning as he was snoozing on the couch.  He always wakes up when we do and goes outside, plays with his ball for a little, comes in and eats some food, and then falls back to sleep.  It’s his routine.  And…I can’t help but admit that I’m a little jealous.

…we gardened.

We have a small Amish farm about five minutes from my house and they always have the most beautiful flowers and hearty vegetable plants.  My mom and grandma came up and we went over and loaded up our carts with flowers, plants, and compost.  I’m excited to get them all potted and set out in front of my house.  Now, if I can only remember to water them.

…we had bonfires.

This is a picture of my friend, Jackie.  She had a wedding on Saturday and came right to the fire on her way home, without stopping to change.  I just had to capture her in her dress because we were laughing all night about how she dressed for the occasion!

…I ran 9 miles.

I finished up my run with an ice bath.  Jet was very interested in the ice that was in the bathtub!  He kept trying to jump in with me!  I told him that once he was in, he was going to have to stay in and actually get a bath.  At the sound of the word ‘bath’, he quickly changed his mind and lost interest.

…we played tug of war.

We are slowly introducing Rosie into the house.  Yesterday, she was inside for almost the entire day, and Jet was very pleased with that.  To him, she is the perfect play buddy!  Here they are playing tug of war with a sock.  I think it’s safe to say that we won’t be giving Rosie away to anyone.  We often talked about getting a buddy for Jet but would never commit…but I guess we didn’t have to make a decision because, somehow, Rosie just found us.

I hope you are enjoying your Tuesday so far and it’s not being too hard on you!  The day back after a long weekend is always tough!

What did you do this past weekend?
Do you feel like it’s officially summer now?

looks like y’all had a nice weekend!

sorry about your friend. :( I hope he’s okay and i’ll keep him in my thoughts!!

I looked a lot like Jet this weekend. A lot of laying around relaxing. I kind of felt guilty for doing so but I guess my body needed it.

  2. Aside from the 5.4 mile run and a random trip to Modell’s, I did nothing but sleep most of the weekend. I guess I needed it? :)
