Hello Friends! Happy Tuesday! ![]()
Did you all have a great weekend? We had absolutely beautiful weather both Saturday and Sunday and it was nice to be able to spend the weekend outside. Unfortunately, Lee had to work all weekend, so I was flying solo for most of it, but I got a lot accomplished!
Friday night was pretty low key. Our friends, Bridget and BJ, were having a bonfire at their house and we stopped over for a couple of hours after Lee got home from work. I always say we are “Jersey Shoring” it because Lee doesn’t get home from work until after 11pm and that’s the time we leave to go out. It’s funny, because I’m usually getting dressed and putting makeup on at 11pm. Pretty ridiculous.
We didn’t stay too long at the fire because I had to teach a Jazzercise class at 7:45am on Saturday morning. I rarely teach class on the weekends, because of the distance I have to travel, but I like to try and do at least one a month so I can do my part and help out and it’s also fun to teach to our students that come in the morning! I always teach night classes because I work during the day, so it’s nice to see fresh faces!
After Jazzercise, I had a top secret mission to attend to…which I’m not going to discuss right now on the blog…but, hopefully, I can reveal it soon!
I spent the rest of the day cleaning up around the house and tackling the massive amounts of laundry I had. I just can’t keep up with it. Laundry is my least favorite thing to do of all time. I mean, cleaning bathrooms is pretty sucky, but you clean it and you’re done. However, with laundry, you have to wash, then dry/hang, then fold, then put away. It is such a process. I just hate it. Anyway, I got it pretty under control, so I’m feeling okay!
On Sunday, I woke up early and made it to Mass and came home to, once again, tackle things around the house. I really hate when Lee works during the weekend but, on the other hand, there are times that I like it because I get so much accomplished! We hung out and played with the pups until he had to leave and then I set out to get some yard work done. I mowed the lawn…at 100mph like I always do…and made myself a sweaty mess, as usual.

(Jet and Rosie have become friends)
After the grass was done, I glanced over and saw the fire pit we have in our yard. The pit is right in the middle of our yard and I have wanted to move it forever but, somehow, it’s a job that always gets pushed to the back burner. Yesterday, I was feeling ambitious and I decided that I was going to deconstruct and rebuild the fire pit myself. I told Lee what I was going to do and he said I should just wait for him because the rocks were heavy and I would probably need help.
Me? Need help!? Pffffftt! I was ready to do it!
It was tough, but I must say that I did pretty well and I survived with only minor injuries…

I have no problem admitting that my neighbors think I’m crazy and Sunday definitely didn’t help my cause. I tried my best to move the stones that were around the pit and I did alright, except for the few that I couldn’t lift….so I just flipped them up through the yard. I felt like I was in one of those Strongmen competitions and I was doing the truck tire flip event. Do you guys know what I’m talking about? I felt silly, but I got the stones in place….
…not too shabby!
After that excitement, I showered and collapsed on the couch. I ended my night with The Hangover…which might be the best movie ever. Perfect end to the weekend!
Yesterday. it was just a typical crazy Monday full of work and Jazzercise. I have a full day of work ahead of me today and I’m hoping to get home tonight to squeeze in an 8-mile run. I’m not sure that’s going to happen…I might be overestimating the amount of time I’ll have before it gets dark!
Have a great day, everyone!
Have you ever tackled a big job by yourself? I’m a very impatient person, so when I get an idea in my head, I have no other choice but to try to do it immediately!
