Afternoon everyone!
As promised…here is the story of the puppy….
First, let me start off by reminding everyone of the other dogs that we have taken in:
….and onto the current one – Rosie.
Lee and I were out Saturday night and a friend of Lee’s asked us if we would be interested in taking a puppy or if we knew anyone else that would want one. She knew that we had taken ones in before and found them homes, so she figured we would be interested. Really? Just because we have done it in the past, does not mean that we are running a shelter. However, we would never, never say no.
Lee’s friend’s sister and her boyfriend had purchased Rosie and it turns out that she just was not a good fit for their home and, if they couldn’t find someone to take her, they were going to take her to a shelter. As soon as we heard that, we knew that was not going to be an option. Of course, we would take her.
We had a couple of people in mind that would possibly want her and we would do our best to find her a good home. We picked her up from Lee’s friend’s house on Sunday night and I instantly fell in love with her! She is a boxer/German Shepherd mix and is so loving and such a sweetheart! She is only seven months old, so she is a little crazy and needs to be trained, but I have a feeling she will make an excellent companion for someone!
We set her up in a little pet hotel in our garage at night (our garage is as big as our house, so she has some nice accomodations) and Lee’s mom comes to release and hang out with her during the day. She is having a nice little vacation with her foster family!
Lee’s friend, Eddie, came to check her out last night and is thinking about taking her. Every dog we get we try to give to Eddie…maybe Rosie is the one?
Until then, Rosie will reside at our house…
…the Animal Rescue League.
Do you have any pets?
Have you ever taken in a stray animal?

Aww Rosie is cute! It shows how big of a heart you both have to take in the dog until she is found a forever home!
As for me, I have 2 dogs, 3 horses and that is plenty enough.
I’d say that’s plenty enough!
She is such a beauty! I’m so thankful for people like you that are willing to find these babies a home. My husband and I found a puppy in a storm drain 2 months ago when we were walking our dog. We walked all around the neighborhood asking about him and everyone kept saying “you can take him to the animal shelter.” That was NOT an option for us, so after holding on to him for a day, asking around, he is now a part of our family! He is a black lab mix & he just fits in so well! About a week after finding him, my husband was out walking our now 2 dogs, and found another puppy. An absolutely adorable basset hound mix. Apparently, people dump puppies near our house! He found a great home for that puppy, thank God! We couldn’t have dealt with another puppy yet!
That’s how I am feeling!…I just don’t think I’m ready to have another puppy in the house again! I guess we’ll see what happens…if we don’t find her a home, I know we’ll end up keeping her!
too cute! What does Jet think!?
When we finally introduced them, Jet seemed totally uninterested. He just went about his business! Haha!
That is sooo sweet of ya’ll!!
She is such a pretty pup!
Thanks! She really is beautiful!
