Five Friday Favorites

Good morning!  Smile

(side note:  We have a customer that is always super grumpy when he comes into our office and when we say ‘Good morning,’ he grumbles and barks back, ‘What’s good about it!?’  We think it’s hysterical!)

Anyway.  I’m back with another edition of Friday favorites.  Let’s check out what I’m currently loving.

1.  Belvita breakfast biscuits

I picked these up one morning when I stopped to get a smoothie and really didn’t know what to expect.  I thought it was going to be a bar, but to my surprise, when I opened the package, I found four flat cracker-like biscuits.  I took a bite and was pleasantly surprised!  I loved the texture and the blueberry flavor!  While I couldn’t survive by just eating only these for breakfast, they are a great little addition.

2.  Nike Trainer shoes

I tried these shoes on a couple of days ago and fell in love.  I’m always looking for new shoes and go through pairs like crazy from Jazzercise and running.  I think these may have to be purchased this weekend.

3.  Fresh flowers in my house

Believe it or not, these flowers are actually ones that I got from Lee on Valentine’s Day.  I have honestly never seen flowers last this long!  I’m obsessed with them.  And…I swear everything in my dining room is not red, even though it doesn’t look that way from the above picture.

4.  Bent-over rows

The back is one of my favorite body parts to work during my strength training.  It is so important to remember that, not only does a sculpted back look awesome, but a strong back is key in providing proper body alignment and posture!  When performing rows, remember to keep your chest lifted, your abs pulled in and tight, and to squeeze through the shoulder blades and middle of the back as you pull back with the weight. Backs straight, ladies!

5.  Macaroni and Cheese

CIMG0806

During Fridays in Lent, it is hard to find a menu that does not have macaroni and cheese on it as a dish.  I prefer to make my own at home or just roll with the old school blue box that I enjoyed as a kid.  Check out my favorite mac n’ cheese recipe here.

Enjoy your Friday!!  Any big plans this weekend?  I think I’m going to partake in some retail therapy this evening and then I have a Jazzercise conference on Saturday.  Should be fun!

I am so funny about my mac n cheese. I don’t like it homemade. I only like it out of the box with the powdered cheese. Gross I know. I am so ashamed! :)

  7. Yes to the bent-over rows! We do these at Body Pump and they KILL after awhile!

Also yay for flowers that last forever haha! Carnations usually last the longest for me…I actually prefer flowers that last longer rather than other flowers (roses!) that last only a couple of days!
