Hazy, Hot and Humid

Hazy, hot, and humid.

That pretty much describes today.  And yesterday.  And probably tomorrow.  I am definitely not complaining about the heat.  I love all the seasons we get here in Western PA and enjoy every one!  Although, if I didn’t have AC in my house?  I probably wouldn’t be liking the summer right about now.

Next on the agenda for summer?  Maybe getting a pool?  It’s funny because I don’t think about getting a pool until it’s scorching hot and I want to use it right.this.second.  If we would get a pool now?  It would be installed just in time to close it up for winter.  I would then have to wait an entire winter before I could use it.  Those kind of situations just don’t fly with this impatient little girl.  Maybe, for now, I’ll just run through the sprinkler.  Wouldn’t that be a sight?

I started my Wednesday morning off the typical way…coffee, breakfast, and blogging on the back porch.

I had some wonderful company.  Hi Jet!

We spent some time playing Fido Football.

It was a good time that consisted of a slobbery plastic football being put in my lap every two seconds.  Yep.  Good times had by all.

My police officer had three court cases to attend this morning but was off the rest of the day so it was nice to be able to spend the day together.

We went grocery shopping and, on the way home, stopped at the driving range.

We stopped at the Amish farm that is by our house and picked up some fresh produce.
Tomatoes, corn, and a kohlrabi.  My grandparents always grow kohlrabis (kohlrabii?) and I love them!  Lee tried a piece for the first time and liked it too!  Mark it on the calendar!

We grilled an amazing dinner with our finds!

It has definitely been a perfect summer day!  The rest of the night is hopefully going to consist of some relaxing and maybe some ice cream!

I hope you all are enjoying your Wednesday!  :-D

What makes a summer day perfect for you?

I love summer day posts… because unfortunately in Phoenix a summer day usually means staying inside :( But, on the other hand everyone has a pool and we can use them most of the year ;)

But a perfect summer day for me (let’s say at my grandparents farm in Iowa) would be just like yours – grilling, golfing, corn, friends, games…. sounds like fun!

  2. A perfect summer day for me involves the beach, followed by a BBQ and some cold beer. :) Your day looks pretty sweet, though! :D

You should try grown up slip and side time to cool off. You’re never too old for slip and slide. Trust me.

  4. Your day sounds like the perfect mid-week break to me! My hubby loves kohlrabi ~ his grandma is the one who introduced it to him. Now he has a bunch of our friends eating it too!
